I greatly regret to announce to the House that Senator The Right Hon. Alfred Byrne, Lord Mayor of Dublin, has written to me to-day resigning his seat in the Seanad. It will be necessary for the House to make an order directing the Clerk to send notice in writing of the vacancy to the Minister for Local Government and Public Health in order to cause such vacancy to be filled.
