Vol. 15 No. 22

Business of Seanad.

Cathaoirleach

Before we adjourn, I should like to draw the attention of Senators to the position as regards the Emergency Imposition of Duties Bill, 1932, which was introduced in the Dáil yesterday. It is anticipated that this Bill will be put through all its stages in the Dáil to-day, and in view of the fact that it is an emergency measure I have been requested by the Government to summon a special meeting of the Seanad for 3 p.m. on Monday next for the purpose of taking this Bill, under the power given me by Standing Order 19 (2). I have acceded to this request and a preliminary notice was sent out to all Senators yesterday by the Clerk under my direction. As soon as the Bill has passed the Dáil to-day, a formal summons will be dispatched.

The Minister for Posts and Telegraphs has handed in a notice of motion, which I have accepted, for the purpose of enabling the remaining stages of this Bill to be taken on Monday.

No other business will appear on the Order Paper.

The House stands adjourned.

The Seanad adjourned at 11.25 a.m.
