Vol. 24 No. 20

Business of Seanad.

In connection with the order of business for to-day, I have to acquaint the House that I have been informed that the Minister for the Co-Ordination of Defensive Measures, who will be attending in the Seanad on behalf of the Government on item No. 5—the motion in the name of Senator Sir John Keane—will be unable, owing to another pressing engagement, to be present until after 6 o'clock. In the circumstances, and as items Nos. 3 and 4 may not fully occupy the time until 6 p.m., it has been suggested that if these Bills are concluded before 6 p.m. we should adjourn, on their conclusion, and resume at 7 p.m., when the Minister will be able to be in attendance. If that suggestion meets with the approval of the House, perhaps we can proceed accordingly.

Agreed.
