Seanad Éireann díospóireacht -
Tuesday, 13 Aug 1946

Vol. 32 No. 13

Business of Seanad.

I think it would be well if we could get some indication as to when we might expect to finish to-morrow.

An Leas-Chathaoirleach

We can deal with that to-morrow when we meet.

I think we more or less had an agreement that we would sit until we finished the Committee Stage to-morrow night. If we could agree on that, Senators' arrangements would be facilitated.

An Leas-Chathaoirleach

We must finish by 12 to-morrow night.

I think we will have gone a good way by 12 o'clock. If we agree to sit until 12, if necessary, it would meet the case.

Personally I have no objection to sitting late to-morrow.

We have agreed to nothing. Can we not agree to-morrow as to the time until which we will sit?

I think that the staff should know for one thing and that it is also desirable that Senators should know and be able to make arrangements to get home.

I agree that we should sit until 12 to-morrow night, if that is of any use.

Let us adjourn until 3 o'clock to-morrow and then decide until what time we will sit.

An Leas-Chathaoirleach

I understand it was suggested that we should finish the Committee Stage to-morrow night so that the Report and remaining Stage might be taken on Friday.

I move that we adjourn until 3 o'clock to-morrow and decide then at what time we will adjourn to-morrow night.

An Leas-Chathaoirleach

There is an indication, in any case, as to what may happen, and it can be referred to again to-morrow.

The Seanad adjourned at 10.5 p.m. until 3 p.m. on Wednesday, 14th August, 1946.
