A communication has been received from the Secretary of the Department of the Taoiseach that (1) the President, on the nomination of the Taoiseach, with the previous consent of Dáil Éireann, appointed Michael Keyes, on the 11th May, 1949, in pursuance of Article 13 1 2º of the Constitution, to be a member of the Government, and that (2) the Taoiseach, in pursuance of the powers conferred on him by Section 4 of the Minister and Secretaries (Amendment) Act, 1946, terminated the assignment of the Department of Local Government to William Norton and assigned that Department to Michael Keyes on the said 11th day of May, 1949.
