Vol. 58 No. 11

Order of Business.

It is proposed to take Nos. 1 and 2 on the Order Paper.

May I inquire as to when it is intended to finish No. 4 on the Order Paper? Surely a motion on education is one of the most important motions that come before this House and it reflects badly on the House that we cannot make some time available to finish this motion.

When the Senators have finished giving their views on the Land Bill, it may be possible to consider taking other matters.

Have we a definite agreement that the motion will be taken when the Land Bill is finished? If it is finished today, shall we sit tomorrow?

We have no agreement. When we finish the Land Bill it will be time enough to take the motion. The Senator must remember that the Minister is involved in this.

It is an unsatisfactory state of affairs that a motion relating to education must stand for a year and a half.
