Vol. 62 No. 6

Business of Seanad.

In connection with the arrangements for the meeting of the Seanad on February 2nd, a Thursday, may I ask if it is proposed to confine business to the discussion of motion No. 7 on today's Order Paper?

Yes; that is the general idea at the moment.

May I further inquire if any tentative arrangement has been made to have the Minister available on the following day, or early the following week, because we are all agreed that this motion cannot receive a full discussion in one day? I should like to submit that as Senators showed such admirable restraint on the Appropriation Bill in refraining from discussing education, they are entitled to consideration.

We would hope to finish in one day, but if that is not possible, we would hope to have the Minister on the Wednesday or Thursday of the following week.

It is clear that it would not finish in one day.

The Seanad adjourned at 10.5 p.m. until 3 p.m. on Wednesday, 25th January, 1967.
