Vol. 70 No. 1

Order of Business.

It is proposed to take Nos. 3, 4 and 5. It is intended to sit tomorrow at 10.30 a.m. to deal with Motion No. 18.

May I ask the Leader of the House if it would be possible to find time today to take Motion No. 22, dealing with the Employment Period Order? The Members of the House will appreciate that the right of the Seanad to annul would be completely negatived if this motion were not to be taken in time to have some effect on the order. The question of the relevance of the case does not arise now. It is a matter of whether it should be added to the Order of Business.

Would it be in order to propose, by way of amendment to the Order of Business, that Motion No. 22 be taken before Motion No. 3?

I would second that.

If the Senator would mention this matter again after tea I will see what the position is.

That is reasonable enough. I will not move the amendment.
