Vol. 104 No. 12

Order of Business.

It is proposed to take No. 1 until 1 p.m. and then to take No. 2 and to complete it today. On the assumption that the debate on No. 1 will not be completed by 1 p.m. it will be resumed on 12 September.

Following Saturday's scenes in Slane I call on the Minister for Justice to bring in legislation for the licensing of all open air festivals and concerts——

They were out of order in Slane and I do not think the Senator is in great order.

It would ensure adequate security arrangements for the holding of these events.

I am concerned about rumours circulating on the future of RTE radio. Will Radio 2 be pumping out pop 24 hours a day when only 12 per cent to 15 per cent of total radio audiences want it?

That is completely out of order.

Is there a difference between something being completely out of order and out of order?

Can we afford a national broadcasting station that only pays lip service to Irish music and our cultural identity?

Order of Business agreed to.
