Seanad Éireann díospóireacht -
Thursday, 6 Dec 1984

Vol. 106 No. 6

Business of Seanad.

It is proposed to adjourn until 2.30 p.m. on Wednesday, 12 December 1984. As has already been indicated, the probability is that the House will be asked to sit next Thursday also.

Could we have any indication of what we will be discussing?

I thought I had already given an indication of that earlier. On next Wednesday, we have the Registration of Potato Growers and Potato Packers Bill from the Dáil. This will need to be taken. I do not know if any other legislation will come from the Dáil. It is proposed to give time to the Housing (Homeless Persons) Bill, 1983, so far as Government business allows. The suggestion is that we discuss the reports of the Joint Committees on Thursday. We still have to complete the discussion of the motion on Developments in the EC and, with it, two reports, one on fisheries and one on the application of the milk levy. I would imagine this will be taken first. We have the Second Report of the Joint Committee on Small Business, the one on retail and distribution. I imagine that will be ordered after it. We also have a report of the EC Joint Committee on Statutory Instruments. As of now, in my tentative programme that would be the business for next Wednesday and Thursday.

The Seanad adjourned at 5.10 p.m. until 2.30 p.m. on Wednesday, 12 December 1984.
