Vol. 117 No. 7

Business of Seanad.

I have notice from Senator John Connor that, on the Motion for the Adjournment of the House today, he proposes to raise the following matter:

The need for the Minister for Finance through the agency of the Office of Publice Works to provide financial and professional assistance to the restoration of the 17th century Church of Ireland Church and Cemetery at Frenchpark, County Roscommon, the resting place of Douglas Hyde, where a commemoration will be held in the summer of 1988 to mark the 50th anniversary of Dr. Hyde's inauguration as the first constitutional President in 1938.

I also received notice from Senator Nuala Fennell of the following matter:

The severe underfunding of the Council for the Status of Women which represents 250,000 women and 55 affiliated organisations.

I regard the matters raised by Senators Connor and Fennell as suitable for discussion on the Adjournment. I have selected Senator Connor's motion and it will be taken at the conclusion of business. Senator Fennell may give notice for another day of the matter she wishes to raise.
