Vol. 122 No. 19

Business of Seanad.

I have notice from Senator John A. Murphy that, on the motion for the Adjournment of the House today, he proposes to raise the following matter:

The need for the Minister for Education to ensure effective arrangements in assessing the large numbers of pupils to be examined under the new junior certificate curriculum in respect of aural testing and oral competence in the Irish language.

I also received notice from Senator Katharine Bulbulia of the following matter:

The need for the Minister for Finance to clarify the position of Waterford in the Government decentralisation programme by identifying the State agency or agencies to be located there and by giving a firm projection of the stage processing of the relocation.

I regard the matters raised by Senators Murphy and Bulbulia as suitable for discussion on the Adjournment. I have selected the matter raised by Senator Murphy and it will be taken from 8 p.m. to 8.30 p.m. Senator Bulbulia may give notice on another day of the matter she wishes to raise.
