On the Order of Business today I raised the possibility of other business being taken this afternoon because I predicted that the debate on the Marine Institute Bill would not last for the full afternoon. I was told by the Leader of the House that this was not possible. He also said that it was the Opposition Whips who asked for an extension of time on the Marine Institute Bill. I have since discovered, having spoken to the Whips, that this was not the case. The Leader of the House, I am sure unwittingly, misrepresented the position of the Whips this afternoon. I would like to offer him the earliest opportunity to put the record straight on this matter. I will leave the matter rest until perhaps tomorrow morning but I want to put the record straight.
Business of Seanad.
Thank you, Senator Manning. I am sure the Leader of the House will put the matter in order, perhaps tomorrow morning.
