Vol. 124 No. 19

Business of Seanad.

I have notice from Senator Pól Ó Foighil that, on the motion for the Adjournment of the House today, he proposes to raise the following matter:

That the Minister for Health takes note of the complete lack of a proper service for the sufferers of Alzheimer's Disease and the lack of planning and commitment from the health boards for carers and respite programme.

I also received notice from Senators Tom Raftery and Liam Cosgrave of the following matter:

In view of the damage being caused to the economy, both locally and nationally, by the disputes at Waterford Glass, the need for the Minister for Labour to make every effort to resolve the dispute.

I also received notice from Senator Mary Jackman of the following matter:

The need for the Minister for Education to integrate Thomond College, Limerick, with the new University of Limerick.

I regard the matters raised by Senators Ó Foighil, Raftery and Cosgrave as suitable for discussion on the Adjournment. I have selected Senator Ó Foighil's matter and it will be taken at the conclusion of business. Senators Raftery and Cosgrave may give notice on another day of the matters they wish to raise.

I regret I have to rule the matter raised by Senator Jackman as not suitable for discussion on the Adjournment on the grounds that it involves legislation.
