Vol. 125 No. 2

Business of Seanad.

I have notice from Senator Pat Upton that, on the motion of the Adjournment of the House today, he proposes to raise the following matter:

The need for the Government to take all possible steps to prevent the spread of Bovine Spongiform Encephalopathy (BSE) to animals and humans.

I also received notice from Senators Tom Raftery and Liam Cosgrave of the following matter:

In view of the damage being caused to the economy both locally and nationally by the dispute at Waterford Glass, the need for the Minister for Labour to make every effort to resolve the dispute.

I also received notice from Senator Joe Costello of the following matter:

The need for the Minister for Education to urgently provide permanent accommodation and proper facilities for the pupils of St. Aidan's Christian Brothers Secondary School, Whitehall, Dublin 9, to replace the present totally inadequate prefabricated structure which has been in existence for over 20 years.

I regard the matters raised by Senators Upton, Raftery, Cosgrave and Costello as suitable for discussion on the Adjournment. I have selected Senator Upton's matter and it will be taken at the conclusion of business. Senators Raftery, Cosgrave and Costello may give notice on another day of the matters they wish to raise.
