Before I call on the Leader of the House, I am happy to announce that the long-awaited simultaneous transmission system has finally been installed and today's sitting is being used as a training session for the staff involved to make any final technical adjustments that may be necessary to the system, such as the level of microphones. After this dress rehearsal it is expected that the microphones will be available in the House tomorrow and the system will be up and running.
I would like to take the opportunity to thank all the Members of the House for their support in urging that the translation facility be provided sooner rather than later and to offer particular thanks to my colleagues on the Committee on Procedure and Privileges for their assistance and co-operation in ensuring that this essential service was made available. Indeed, a word of thanks also to Senator Ó Foighil who took every opportunity in the House to promote the case for the system. I am aware that he wants to comment briefly on it. If the House agrees, we will give him a brief moment to comment at this stage.
