I have notice from Senator Henry that, on the motion for the Adjournment of the House today, she proposes to raise the following matter:

The need for the Minister for Foreign Affairs to outline the reasons for the delay in the ratification of Protocols I and II to the Geneva Convention.

I also received notice from Senator Fahey of the following matter:

The need for the Minister for Finance to change VAT regulations which require the Galway Hospice, which is under construction, to pay £215,000 VAT to the State as part of the development costs of the project.

I also received notice from Senator Taylor-Quinn of the following matter:

The need for the Minister for Transport, Energy and Communications to outline the social and economic implications that will arise from the Government's decision to change the transatlantic status of Shannon airport.

I also received notice from Senator Roche of the following matter:

The need for the Minister for Transport, Energy and Communications to acknowledge the widescale concern that the promised funds for the extension of the DART to Greystones are not referred to in the National Plan and to request that he guarantee that such moneys will be included in the detailed operational plans.

I also received notice from Senator Calnan of the following matter:

The need for the Minister for Finance to make moneys available to the Office of Public Works to alleviate flooding from the Bandon river in the Dunmanway area in County Cork.

I also received notice from Senator McGowan of the following matter:

The need for the Minister for Education to provide funding for an extension to Saint Columba's College, Stranorlar, County Donegal.

I also received notice from Senator Neville of the following matter:

The need for the Minister for Agriculture, Food and Forestry to outline the progress to date in implementing the recommendations of the Sixth Joint Committee on Commercial State Sponsored Bodies (5th Report) on Bord na gCon.

I also received notice from Senator Ross of the following matter:

The need for the Minister for Foreign Affairs to allocate more funding to Co-operation North.

I regard the matters raised by Senators Henry, Fahey, Taylor-Quinn, Roche, Calnan, McGowan, Neville and Ross as suitable for discussion on the Adjournment. I have selected Senators Henry's and Fahey's matters and they will be taken at the conclusion of business. The other Senators may give notice on another day of the matters they wish to raise.
