Vol. 148 No. 4

Business of Seanad.

I have notice from Senator Maloney that, on the motion for the Adjournment of the House today, he proposes to raise the following matter:

The need for the Minister for the Marine to give written confirmation to Hydro Seafood, Fanad, County Donegal, relating to approval and grant assistance for the proposed processing plant at Fanad, in order to secure 35 jobs at present and allow for the creation of an extra 20 jobs.

I have also received notice from Senator Rory Kiely of the following matter:

The need for the Minister for Agriculture, Food and Forestry to address the hardship caused to small milk producers because of recent changes in the mode of operation of the temporary milk leasing scheme.

I have also received notice from Senator McGowan of the following matter:

The need for the Minister for Social Welfare to make a statement on the student summer jobs scheme.

I regard the matters raised by the Senators as suitable for discussion on the Adjournment. I have selected Senator Maloney's and Senator Kiely's matters and they will be taken at the conclusion of business. Senator McGowan may give notice on another day of the matter he wishes to raise.
