Vol. 160 No. 2

Business of Seanad.

An Leas-Chathaoirleach

I have notice from Senator Ridge that, on the motion for the Adjournment of the House today, she proposes to raise the following matter:

The need for the Minister of State at the Department of Justice, Equality and Law Reform, with responsibility for equality and disabilities, to make a statement on the implications for persons with disabilities of the discontinuation of funding to the Centre for Independent Living for the Vantastic service which enables people with disabilities to travel to work.

I have also received notice from Senator Costello of the following matter:

The need for the Minister of State at the Department of Justice, Equality and Law Reform, with responsibility for equality and disabilities, to make a statement on the implications for persons with disabilities of the withdrawal of funding for the Centre for Independent Living and the consequential cessation of the Vantastic service.

I regard the matters raised by the Senators as suitable for discussion on the Adjournment and they will be taken at the conclusion of business. As both motions are on the same subject they may be taken together with the Senators sharing the time allocated.
