Vol. 160 No. 12

Business of Seanad.

I have notice from Senator Glynn that, on the motion for the Adjournment of the House today, he proposes to raise the following matter:

The need for the Minister for Finance to favourably consider decentralising a Department to Mullingar, County Westmeath.

I have also received notice from Senator Cosgrave of the following matter:

The need for the Minister for Justice, Equality and Law Reform to examine the delays in inquests being held in the Dublin Coroner's Court which result in increased stress to the relatives of the deceased.

I have also received notice from Senator Finneran of the following matter:

The need for the Minister for Agriculture, Food and Rural Development and the EU Commissioner for Agriculture to address the income crisis affecting lowland sheep producers.

I have also received notice from Senator Taylor-Quinn of the following matter:

The need for the Minister for Public Enterprise and Aer Rianta to give proactive assistance to the Ryanair proposal to open up five new routes with daily scheduled services from Shannon Airport and to recognise the importance of such a proposal to development in the region.

I regard the matters raised by the Senators as suitable for discussion on the Adjournment and I have selected the matters raised by Senators Glynn and Cosgrave and they will be taken at the conclusion of business. The other Senators may give notice on another day of the matters they wish to raise.
