Message from Dáil.

The following message was received from Dáil Éireann regarding the Joint Committee on Consolidation Bills:

That, notwithstanding anything in Standing Orders–

(a)the Stamp Duties Consolidation Bill, 1999, be referred to the Standing Joint Committee on Consolidation Bills;

(b)the first meeting of the Committee to consider the Bill be held on Tuesday, 30th November, 1999; and

(c)in the case of the Stamp Duties Consolidation Bill, 1999–

(i)in accordance with Standing Order 134(2), the following Members be appointed to the Standing Joint Committee on Consolidation Bills for the purpose of considering the aforementioned Bill:–

Deputies John Dennehy, Jimmy Deenihan and Derek McDowell, and

(ii)it shall be an instruction to the Committee that it has power to group sections together for the purposes of debate and to dispose of more than one section (and any amendments thereto) by one Question, which shall be put from the Chair.
