Vol. 171 No. 1

Business of Seanad.

I have received notice from Senator Mansergh that, on the motion for the Adjournment of the House today, he proposes to raise the following matter:

The need for the Minister for Communications, Marine and Natural Resources to make a statement on the Government's policy on the viability of small rural post offices.

I have also received notice from Senator Ulick Burke of the following matter:

The need for the Minister for Enterprise, Trade and Employment to indicate the steps she will take to get replacement jobs following the job losses in Square D in Ballinasloe.

I have also received notice from Senator Mary Henry of the following matter:

The need for the Minister for Health and Children to outline the reasons he has taken no action following the serious reports of staff shortages at St. Mary's Home for the Mentally and Physically Handicapped, Drumcar, County Louth.

I have also received notice from Senator O'Meara of the following matter:

The need for the Minister for Environment and Local Government to act immediately to restore the physically disabled person's grant in north Tipperary.

I regard the matters raised by the Senators as suitable for discussion on the Adjournment and I have selected the matters raised by Senators Mansergh, Ulick Burke and Henry to be taken at the conclusion of business. Senator O'Meara may give notice on another day of the matter she wishes to raise.
