Vol. 187 No. 13

Business of Seanad.

I have notice from Senator Terry Leyden that, on the motion for the Adjournment of the House today, he proposes to raise the following matter:

The need for the Minister for Finance to give an update on the progress and implementation of the mid-Shannon corridor tourism infrastructure investment scheme.

I have also received notice from Senator Frances Fitzgerald of the following matter:

The need for the Minister for Health and Children to outline her position on the regulation of cosmetic surgery clinics and cosmetic surgeons in light of the tragic death of a patient at the Advanced Cosmetic Clinic after treatment by a French surgeon.

I have also received notice from Senator Jerry Buttimer of the following matter:

The need for the Minister for Health and Children to provide necessary funding and to put in place proper systems for paediatric diabetes services at Cork University Hospital.

I have also received notice from Senator Cecilia Keaveney of the following matter:

The need for the Minister for Agriculture and Food to explain the delay in providing an important facility for the Royal National Lifeboat Institution in Buncrana, County Donegal, and the implications for safety at sea if this continues.

I regard the matters raised by the Senators as suitable for discussion on the Adjournment. I have selected the matters raised by Senators Terry Leyden, Frances Fitzgerald and Jerry Buttimer and they will be taken at the conclusion of business. Senator Cecilia Keaveney may give notice on another day of the matter she wishes to raise.
