Vol. 197 No. 5

Business of Seanad.

I have received notice from Senator David Norris that he proposes to raise the following matter on the Adjournment:

The need for the Minister for Education and Science to review as a matter of urgency the changes to State funding for Protestant, voluntary and Jewish schools in budget 2009, as well as certain recommendations of the McCarthy report in so far as they affect the Protestant, voluntary and Jewish schools in order to avoid unintentional but serious discriminatory effects.

I have also received notice from Senator Cecilia Keaveney of the following matter:

The need for the Minister for Communications, Energy and Natural Resources to make a statement on how the future development of the River Foyle can be co-ordinated and maximised across all possible marine uses under one potential cross-Border agency.

I regard the matters raised by the Senators as suitable for discussion on the Adjournment and they will be taken at the conclusion of business.
