I have received notice from the following Senators that they propose to raise the following matters:Senator John McGahon - The need for the Minister for Enterprise, Trade and Employment to make a statement on the work permit application process.Senator Marie Sherlock - The need for the Minister for Enterprise, Trade and Employment to make a statement on the timeline for the transposition of the adequate minimum wage directive.Senator Michael McDowell - The need for the Minister for Housing, Local Government and Heritage to make a statement on the departure of private landlords from the rental market.Senator Robbie Gallagher - The need for the Minister for Transport to make a statement on the extension of the young adult card scheme to include discounted journeys to colleges in Northern Ireland.Senator Malcolm Byrne - The need for the Minister for Tourism, Culture, Arts, Gaeltacht, Sport and Media to make a statement on the likely impact on tourism of the proposed new registration system for short-term letting properties.Senator Lynn Boylan - The need for the Minister for Rural and Community Development to make a statement on ensuring the welfare of dogs at the dog breeding establishment in Cork that has been issued with a closure notice.Senator Mary Seery Kearney - The need for the Minister for Health to provide a timeline for the bringing of the amendments to the Health (Assisted Human Reproduction) Bill 2022 in order for Committee Stage of the Bill to commence.Senator John Cummins - The need for the Minister for Housing, Local Government and Heritage to increase the maximum market value of properties that can be purchased with the assistance of the local authority home loan mortgage.Senator Tim Lombard - The need for the Minister for Health to make a statement on the timelines for the commencement of ophthalmology services in the new theatres and outpatient units in South Infirmary Victoria University Hospital and in Ballincollig, County Cork.Senator Eugene Murphy - The need for the Minister for Environment, Climate and Communications to make a statement on the provision of road gritting for county roads during freezing conditions.Senator Aisling Dolan - The need for the Minister for Education to provide an update on the school bus transport review and plans for school transport for 2023 and 2024.Senator Maria Byrne - The need for the Minister for Finance to make a statement on the extension of the 9% tourism VAT rate.Senator Martin Conway - The need for the Minister for Finance to make a statement on the disabled drivers and passenger tax relief scheme, in particular the current exemption thresholds for VRT and VAT. Of the matters raised by the Senators suitable for discussion, I have selected Senators McGahon, Sherlock, McDowell and Gallagher and they will be taken now. I regret that I had to rule out of order the matters raised by Senators Boylan, Seery Kearney and Murphy on the ground that the relevant Minister has no official responsibility in the matters raised. The other Senators may give notice on another day of the matters that they wish to raise.
