Vol. 292 No. 4

Gnó an tSeanaid - Business of Seanad

I have received notice from the following Senators that they propose to raise the following matters:

Senator Marie Byrne - The need for the Minister for Enterprise, Trade and Employment to outline the measures being considered in 2023 to support small and medium-sized enterprises.

Senator Barry Ward - The need for the Minister for Housing, Local Government and Heritage to establish municipal districts in all Dublin local authorities, and in Cork and Galway City Councils.

Senator Lorraine Clifford-Lee - The need for the Minister for Health to ensure that all health warning labels on alcohol products be printed in both Irish and English in line with the draft Public Health Regulations 2022.

Senator Lynn Boylan - The need for the Minister for Finance to introduce a tax on online advertising.

Senator Erin McGreehan - The need for the Minister for Enterprise, Trade and Employment to make a statement of the introduction of a digital accessibility grant to enable companies to develop their websites and mobile applications in order to comply with the European Union (Accessibility of Websites and Mobile Applications of Public Sector Bodies) Regulations 2020.

Senator Robbie Gallagher - The need for the Minister for Health to make a statement on plans to extend the role of community pharmacies in light of ongoing pressures within emergency departments and GP practices around the country.

Senator Tim Lombard - The need for the Minister for Transport to ensure national car test, NCT, certificates are valid from test completed date rather than test due date.

Senator Garret Ahearn - The need for the Minister for Justice to make a statement on the timelines for the tendering of the new Garda stations at Clonmel and Macroom.

Of the matters raised by the Senators suitable for discussion, I have selected Senators Byrne, Ward, Clifford-Lee and Boylan and they will be taken now. I regret that I had to rule out of order the matter raised by Senator Lombard on the ground that the Minister has no official responsibility in the matter. The other Senators may give notice on another day of the matters that they wish to raise.
