Vol. 295 No. 8

Gnó an tSeanaid - Business of Seanad

I have received notice from the following Senators that they propose to raise the following matters:

Senator Erin McGreehan - The need for the Minister for Children, Equality, Disability, Integration and Youth to invest in community rehabilitation teams in the community healthcare organisation, CHO, 8 area to ensure adequate community-based treatments and therapies for neuro patients.

Senator Mark Wall - The need for the Minister for Health to provide additional funding to Willow Community Counselling Services Athy, County Kildare.

Senator Mary Seery Kearney - The need for the Minister for Education to make a statement on the process for the identification of the need for secondary schools in circumstances in which the internal process identified and delivered a primary school in Dublin 8 but has not yet demonstrated the need for a secondary school.

Senator Victor Boyhan - The need for the Minister for Agriculture, Food and the Marine to make a statement on progress on a formal state aid notification by the EU Commission to Ireland relating to the forestry programme 2023-27, including any additional information required and confirmation that funding remains committed for the programme.

Senator John Cummins - The need for the Minister for Housing, Local Government and Heritage to amend the regulations governing domestic septic tanks to allow those who purchased homes with an unregistered septic tank post 1 February 2013 to avail of a grant for remediation works.

Senator Sharon Keogan - The need for the Minister for Housing, Local Government and Heritage to make a statement on the reduction in the timeframe in which Uisce Éireann must implement its incident management and emergency response protocols in response to emergency events and the implementation of a scheme similar to the temporary business energy support scheme to assist businesses unduly impacted by water outages.

Senator Ned O'Sullivan - The need for the Minister for Tourism, Culture, Arts, Gaeltacht, Sport and Media to make a statement on Listowel Writers Week and the Arts Council's policy of employing former members of the Arts Council's staff as consultants.

Senator Seán Kyne - The need for the Minister for Finance to make a statement on progress on the programme for Government commitment to index-link tax credits and bands.

Senator Robbie Gallagher - The need for the Minister for Health to make a statement on the current status of delivery and handover of primary care centres in County Monaghan.

Senator Fiona O'Loughlin - The need for the Minister for Transport to make a statement on plans to combat illegal sulky racing on our national road network.

Senator Emer Currie - The need for the Minister for Children, Equality, Disability, Integration and Youth to update Childcare Facilities: Guidelines for Planning Authorities, published in 2001, to address the chronic supply issues in childcare.

Of the matters raised by the Senators which are suitable for discussion, the Cathaoirleach has selected Senators Erin McGreehan, Mark Wall, Mary Seery Kearney and Victor Boyhan, and they will be taken now. I regret that the matters raised by Senators Sharon Keogan, Ned O'Sullivan and Fiona O'Loughlin are ruled out of order on the grounds that the relevant Minister has no official responsibility with regard to the matters raised. The other Senators may give notice on another day of the matters which they have raised.
