Gnó an tSeanaid - Business of Seanad

I have received notice from the following Senators that they propose to raise the following matters:

Senator Victor Boyhan - The need for the Minister for Agriculture, Food and the Marine to make a statement on the delivery of agri-climate rural environment scheme payments to farmers before Christmas.

Senator Paul Gavan - The need for the Minister for Further and Higher Education, Research, Innovation and Science to make a statement on precarious employment in higher education in light of the recent Irish Federation of University Teachers, IFUT, report on this matter.

Senator Emer Currie - The need for the Minister of State with responsibility for the Office of Public Works to provide an update on the Phoenix Park transport and mobility strategy.

Senator Malcolm Byrne - The need for the Minister for Health to provide an update on the planned new ambulance base in Gorey, County Wexford.

Senator Tom Clonan - The need for the Minister for Children, Equality, Disability, Integration and Youth to make a statement on the delays and waiting lists for independent personal budgets for personal assistant services and on the need for a broadening of the brokerage models from the large corporate providers.

Senator Robbie Gallagher - The need for the Minister for Finance to make a statement on the enhanced reporting requirements to Revenue due to commence in January 2024 and if the requirements could be suspended for a period due to increased cost to employers.

The matters raised by the Senators are suitable for discussion. I have selected those raised by Senators Boyhan, Gavan, Currie and Byrne and they will be taken now. The other Senators may give notice on another day of the matters that they wish to raise.
