I hope the Minister will insist, as far as possible, that they will be of benefit to the economy.

Mr. Andrews

I agree strongly with the views expressed by Deputy Sheehan. This economic link should operate and be seen to operate properly to the advantage of the local communities and of the community generally.

Mr. Sheehan

When will the licences issued by member states expire?

Mr. Andrews

I understand there will be an annual licence.

Mr. Sheehan

I hope in future the Minister will insist that they spend as much money as possible in the economy of the port out of which they are fishing.

Mr. Andrews

I support that view.
