I move amendment No. 90:
In page 48, subsection (1)(c), line 34, to delete "one-third" and substitute "10 per cent.".
This section deals with the functions of the Supervisory Committee and stipulates in paragraph (c) that it shall compare the pass books of a random sample of one third of credit union members with the records of the credit union. The Irish League of Credit Unions, the credit union advisory committee and some individual credit unions have made representations to me that the figure of one third is much too onerous a requirement for a large credit union. Accordingly, I have accepted the alternative suggestion of 10 per cent.
