I move amendment No. 1:
In page 3, subsection (1), line 25, to delete "or donees".
This is a purely drafting amendment.
SECTION 2.
Why does the Minister want to restrict the provision to a single donee?
The amendment is consequential on an amendment to the definition of "power of attorney" made in the Seanad which deleted words in the definition referring to "each donee if more than one". These deleted words made it desirable to refer to donee or donees, but the reference to donee in the plural is no longer necessary, being covered by the general provisions in the interpretation.
