SELECT COMMITTEE ON SOCIAL AND FAMILY AFFAIRS díospóireacht -
Thursday, 11 Dec 2003

Vol. 1 No. 5

Business of Select Committee.

Rather than resubmitting my amendments, can they be put down as they are worded for Report Stage?

I am not sure of the technicalities. I think it must be done through the Bills Office.

They are the same amendments.

We shall be reporting back to the Dáil for its immediate consideration.

What are the arrangements for Report Stage?

We shall take Report and Final Stages after the Order of Business next Tuesday and after Question Time on Wednesday. I wish to thank you, Chairman, for having facilitated us and I also thank all other members of the committee for their deliberations. I look forward to the next round.

Which is coming soon.

I take this opportunity to thank the Minister and her staff, and you, Chairman, for the way in which you have chaired this meeting. We will have round three next week.

I am already looking forward to it.

I thank everybody for the way in which we set about dealing with this important Bill. I hope that on Report Stage, the Minister will show a commitment to stand up and take account of the various points we put forward. Following amendments, we will have a better Bill for all those whom we represent.

I wish to thank the Minister and her staff for attending the committee. Each year she gets better and she is really thriving in this job.

It is all the good health.

The select committee adjourned at 7.45 p.m.sine die.
