Special Committee Pigs and Bacon Bill, 1934 díospóireacht -
Wednesday, 10 Apr 1935

SECTION 95.

(2) The Board shall in each year, at such date and in such form as the Minister may direct, make to the Minister a report of its proceedings under this Part of the Act during the preceding year.

I move amendment No. 77 :—

In sub-section (2) at the end of the sub-section to add the following words :—" and such report shall lie upon the Table of the House." The Minister knows the purpose of this amendment.

Minister for Agriculture

I think it is a reasonable amendment in all such Acts. I think it was included in the Cattle Act, the Electricity Supply Board Act, and the Beet Sugar Act. It really should have been inserted in this Bill.

I withdraw the amendment on the understanding that the Minister will examine it and introduce a similar amendment on the Report Stage.

Section 95 agreed to.
Question proposed that Section 96 stand part of the Bill.

Sub-section (2) provides that all moneys received by the Board under this Part of the Act shall be paid by the Board into the fund. Will that appear in Supply Service Estimates ? Will the Minister get the money to loan to the Pig Marketing Board ?

Minister for Agriculture

It will come on as a Supplementary Estimate.
