Special Committee Pigs and Bacon Bill, 1934 díospóireacht -
Thursday, 11 Apr 1935

SECTION 109.

The Board may do all or any of the following things, that is to say:—
(a) advertise, either alone or in co-operation with any other person, bacon;
(b) undertake research work in relation work in relation to the manufacture of bacon, which, in the opinion of the Board, is calculated to benefit the bacon industry.

Minister for Agriculture

I move amendment No. 104:—

In paragraph (b), page 50, line 23, to insert after the word " bacon " the words " and the preparation and utilisation of by-products,".

It is fairly evident, I think, that this Board may enter upon research work, not only in connection with bacon, but other products in which it may be necessary to carry on such work.
