296 Mr. C. Lenihan asked the Minister for Communications, Marine and Natural Resources the plans he has for the future of the ESB; and his views on whether the company should be further capitalised but remain in State hands. [3890/04]
Amharc ar fhreagraI assume the Deputy is referring to the ownership of the ESB. Current Government policy is that the most appropriate form of ownership or structure of State companies will be approached on a case-by-case basis. I have no plans to change the ownership of the ESB and I cannot see a case or need to inject Exchequer funding into the company.
