335 Mr. B. O’Keeffe asked the Minister for Health and Children when he proposes to appoint a design team for the construction of the Irish blood transfusion Munster centre in Cork, as recommended by the international panel in October 2002. [6989/04]
Amharc ar fhreagraThe development brief for the project was submitted to the Department by the Irish Blood Transfusion Service in March 2003. The estimated current capital cost of the project, including special facilities for nucleic acid amplification technology testing, is approximately €28 million. Officials of my Department are in discussions with the Department of Finance in order to agree a capital investment framework for the period 2004-08. The project mentioned by the Deputy is being considered in that context.
