101 Mr. Kenny asked the Tánaiste and Minister for Enterprise, Trade and Employment the number of persons employed in the community employment schemes as carers for the elderly and those with a disability; and if she will make a statement on the matter. [13797/04]
Amharc ar fhreagraThere are currently 3,012 persons employed on community employment projects providing health and social services. These projects are largely concerned with the provision of services for the elderly and for people with disabilities. The total funding allocation for employment schemes in 2004 has been fixed at €351 million, which will support up to 25,000 places in total across the three employment programmes — community employment, job initiative and social economy.
