Amharc ar fhreagraAs explained in my previous response to a question in this case, No. 145 on 4 May, there are specific procedures for appeals under the rural environment protection scheme. These include an initial appeal to my Department's local office and the right of appeal to the agriculture appeals office. The initial appeal in this case was unsuccessful and my Department has now written to the person named, informing him of that decision and advising him of his right to make a further appeal to the agriculture appeals office. The agriculture appeals office is statutorily independent of my Department.
