Ceisteanna (156)

Pat Carey

Ceist:

172 Mr. Carey asked the Minister for Health and Children the progress which has been made by his Department in identifying new office accommodation in Dublin area for the GMS pursuant to a newspaper advertisement some time ago; if, in view of the contribution of its staff to the Finglas economy, he will consider allowing the GMS to remain in its current location or close to it; and if he will make a statement on the matter. The provision of office accommodation for the General Medical Services (Payments) Board is being considered by the board, in conjunction with the Department, in the context of the health reform programme and the establishment of the Health Services Executive. I have had inquiries made and I understand that a final decision has not yet been made.
