352 Mr. Stanton asked the Minister for the Environment, Heritage and Local Government if his Department has received a request from Cork County Council for funding to enable the construction of a relief road north of Midleton; if funding has been made available for this project; his plans to make additional funding available; and the total amount required or requested. My Department approved grant assistance of €1,333,225 towards the cost of the Midleton northern relief road under the strategic non-national roads grants scheme in recent years. Details of payments to date and the allocation for 2004 are: 2002, €36,794; 2003, €3,162; 2004, €200,000 (allocation).
