Ceisteanna (126)

Finian McGrath

Ceist:

122 Mr. F. McGrath asked the Minister for Health and Children if he comment on the recently reported case of a person (details supplied) who continually sexually assaulted their daughters and nieces; and the reason none of the Government agencies involved, over the years, took action to protect them. The investigation of criminal matters rests with the Garda Síochána while statutory responsibility for the provision of child welfare and protection services rests with the relevant health board. The general nature of the information supplied by the Deputy is not sufficient to enable the necessary inquiries. Perhaps he could furnish more detailed information to the relevant authorities or myself so that inquiries may be made.
