The provision of hospital services for people living in County Cork is a matter for the Southern Health Board. My Department has, therefore, asked the chief executive officer of the Southern Health Board to investigate the position on the case and to reply directly to the Deputy.

Ceist:349 Ms McManus asked the Minister for Health and Children the plans he has in place to close operating theatres at the National Maternity Hospital during the summer of 2004; the dates and times when those closures are to take place; and if he will make a statement on the matter. [17172/04]

My Department has, therefore, requested the regional chief executive of the authority to investigate the matters raised by the Deputy and to reply to her directly.
