120 Mr. O’Connor asked the Taoiseach if he will report on his meeting with the President of Colombia with regard to the Colombia Three; if his attention has been drawn to the wide interest in this issue; the assurances these persons have received; and if he will make a statement on the matter. Amharc ar fhreagraI raised the case of the three men detained in Colombia with President Uribe at our recent meeting. My concern was for the safety of the men and I raised with the President the possibility of allowing them home pending an appeal. As of now, I have not had any official communication from the Colombian authorities but I understand they have indicated that the Government there had no objection to the three men being allowed home pending an appeal, but this was a matter for the judiciary there.
