177 Mr. Deenihan asked the Minister for Arts, Sport and Tourism if a grant under the sports capital programme will be awarded to a club (details supplied) in County Kerry; and if he will make a statement on the matter. [18630/04]
Amharc ar fhreagraAn agreement exists between my Department and the Department of Community, Rural and Gaeltacht Affairs whereby applications for funding under the sport capital programme from organisations located in designated Gaeltacht areas will be considered by the Department of Community, Rural and Gaeltacht Affairs. On this basis, the application for grant assistance from Cumann Caide Peile, Liospoil, was not assessed under the sports capital programme operated by my Department but was transferred to the Department of Community, Rural and Gaeltacht Affairs for consideration. I understand that the Department will contact Cumann Caide Peile, Liospoil, regarding the outcome of the application.
