329 Mr. Kenny asked the Minister for the Environment, Heritage and Local Government the number of public servants employed in his Department who are paid by cheque; and the number who are paid electronically; and if he will make a statement on the matter. [21051/04]
Amharc ar fhreagraThere are 1,533 persons on my Department's payroll at present of whom 1,295 are paid by electronic funds transfer and 238 by cheque. All new entrants to my Department are now paid exclusively by electronic funds transfer, and existing staff are encouraged to avail of this facility.
