Ceist:267 Mr. Durkan asked the Minister for Foreign Affairs, further to Parliamentary Question No. 177 of 10 November 2004 and in view of the fact that the incident in question was discussed publicly in the media, if he has received assurances from the UK authorities which adequately clear up the incident; if an indication has been given regarding whether the Prevention of Terrorism Act 2000 is likely to similarly affect other Irish persons travelling to the UK; if he has had discussions with the UK authorities with a view to establishing accepted practices and procedures to deal with such cases; if, as is indicated by his reply, such matters will be dealt with on a confidential basis by the Irish and British authorities; if, in such circumstances, he has satisfied himself that the public interest is best served and that the interests and rights of Irish citizens will be observed and borne in mind in the event of any recurrence; and if he will make a statement on the matter.
