222 Mr. McGuinness asked the Minister for Education and Science her views on recent media reports which claim that some students attending Kilkenny city vocational school are being paid €50 per week to turn up in school; if she will investigate the claim; and if she will make a statement on the matter. I am aware of the reports to which the Deputy refers. I understand that County Kilkenny Vocational Education Committee is conducting an investigation into the matter. My Department has asked the chief executive officer of the vocational education committee to provide a full report as a matter of urgency.
