216 Mr. P. Breen asked the Tánaiste and Minister for Health and Children when an application will be processed under the housing aid for the elderly scheme for a person (details supplied) in County Clare; and if she will make a statement on the matter. [1092/05]
Amharc ar fhreagraThe Health Act 2004 provided for the Health Service Executive, which was established on 1 January 2005. Under the Act, the executive is required to manage and deliver, or arrange to be delivered on its behalf, health and personal social services. Responsibility for the provision of the housing aid scheme for the elderly in Clare rests with the executive on behalf of the Department of the Environment, Heritage and Local Government. My Department has requested the chief officer for the executive's mid-western area to investigate the matter raised and to reply directly to the Deputy.
