272 Mr. Naughten asked the Minister for Justice, Equality and Law Reform the number of penalty points tickets issued to motorists in the seven days before the introduction of metrification; the corresponding figure for the seven days following the introduction of the new speed limits; and if he will make a statement on the matter. I am informed by the Garda authorities that the information requested is not readily available and could only be obtained by the expenditure of a disproportionate amount of Garda time and resources which could not be justified in the circumstances.
