382 Dr. Upton asked the Minister for Defence if he will investigate the reason a person (details supplied) was discharged from the Defence Forces. [6588/05]
Amharc ar fhreagraThe military authorities advise that the person in question enlisted in the Permanent Defence Force on 13 April 1973 and was discharged on 23 January 1977. His reason for discharge is recorded as "below army physical standards". Due to medical confidentiality, I cannot give full details of the reason the military medical authorities determined that the person concerned was below the medical standard for continued service in the Permanent Defence Force. However, if the individual in question wishes to nominate a medical practitioner, the military medical authorities will furnish any necessary details to such a nominee.
